Explanation of Responses:
1. Represents shares held by IBP Investment Holdings, LLC, or Investment Holdings, a Delaware limited liability company. PJAM IBP Holdings, Inc., or PJAM, an Ohio corporation, and Installed Building Systems, Inc., or Systems, a Delaware corporation, own 41.4% and 36.0%, respectively, of the outstanding common units of Investment Holdings. Jeffrey W. Edwards, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Installed Building Products, Inc., controls PJAM and Systems, and owns certain outstanding common units of Investment Holdings. Mr. Edwards has sufficient voting and dispositive power to control Investment Holdings. Mr. Edwards disclaims beneficial ownership of these securities except to the extent of his pecuniary interest therein, and the inclusion of these shares in this report shall not be deemed an admission of beneficial ownership of all of the reported shares for purposes of Section 16 or for any other purpose.
2. Represents shares held by IBP Management Holdings, LLC, or Management Holdings, a Delaware limited liability company. Mr. Edwards shares voting and dispositive power over the shares held by IBP Management Holdings, LLC. attorney-in-fact, with full power and authority as hereinafter described on
behalf of and in the name, place and stead of the undersigned to:

        (1)    execute for, and on behalf of, the undersigned, in the
undersigned's capacity as an officer, director and/or 10% beneficial owner of
Installed Building Products, Inc. (the "Company"), Forms 3, 4, and 5 in
accordance with Section 16(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and the
rules and regulations promulgated thereunder (the "Exchange Act");

        (2)    seek or obtain, as the undersigned's representative and on the
undersigned's behalf, information on transactions in the Company's securities
from any third party, including brokers, employee benefit plan administrators
